Iphone hacking project getaroundseattle.com (domain already owned)
A set of hacks combining the 'realtime' bus tracking system that the city of seattle has, (which is a java applet). With the location api of the iphone (which we now have access to in iphone 2.0 software beta 3.)
UI A list of your favorite places select one (home, work, girlfriends, Coffee Shop), push the locate button, get the circle and a the numbers for the buses that are going that way, and it displays the buses location in real time as they approach.

"Relative Time" application
Improve how time is stored in PoorMike's. Not everything is related to a calendar year. Build an interface that allows people to easily store time information using a format other than the Julian Calendar. Add features that are geo-specific. Also be able to capture such oddities as "the start of the year", "after the first full moon", "three days before my birthday", etc. Detect ambiguity.

Location Beacon
Taps into Twitter and Facebook updates (maybe for Hashtags, ie. #GiraffeLabs) to show when people are at a given location.

Aggregate keyword mentions across multiple sites
There ought to be a friendfeedy/dogpile river interface which tracked lots of different sites that mention a company name or brand keyword. These exist for some individual sites already but I'm not sure if there is a aggregator that pulls from multiple apis.

AdSense rotation module for future re-use
Create an AdSense rotation web service that users can create business rules behind. You could have all sorts of rules, like site owner gets x%, each added user gets y%, etc... You could pass sitename/other info and have it return a randomly choosen AdSense ID/channel ID.
This could be used by others as well as SHS for sharing profits on sites based on content/contributions/etc...

Random Flip of a Coin Widget
I am on a number of discussion lists, where the ability to flip a coin to decide on a location, time, decision, etc. would be very cool. I could even be a FB and blog widget...

myotherskills - listing of all the random skills a person can do (domain is available)
Rather than listing skills by job posting, why not have a place to list all of a person's skills, even if they are random like translating Greek, playing piano, or being an advanced web developer. Then you could find people with skills by locale, find and match random skills like someone who can compose a song in Greek and can do your website too.
Imagine an iphone interface where you could type in 'greek', 'piano', and 'web developer' and have the map program drop pins of people who match, along with their contact info.

Karma Police
Have you done something bad? Lost some major karma points? Here’s your chance to earn them back! Simply hit up the Karma Police website and anonymously confess your sin. Other users can then view your confession and vote on an action that they feel is an appropriate penance for you to perform to restore your karmic balance.
Example: “I spilled my drink on a sofa during a party and instead of cleaning it, I just flipped the cushion over”
Options: - Make a $50 donation to a local non-profit - Buy a drink for the person behind you at Starbucks - Say hello to 5 random people - Call your mom
Users would vote on the “punishment” they feel best fits the crime. After 1 week, the votes would be tallied and the “sinner” would receive their karmic sentence.
Of course, this could also be done as a FB/OS widget

Easy Service for Converting Your Organization's Calendar to work with Google Calendar, Upcoming, Eventful, etc.
There's a ton of nice calendar services out there and a ton of organizations with CRAPPY calendars that don't integrate with anything (like gCalendar and Upcoming). Start a company that charges businesses to promote their calendars on the "BIG" calendar sites.

Invite Exchange
For all of those various secret invites that everyone begs their friends for over twitter... why not have a mini-marketplace for them? Trading invites would be the primary function (invite for invite), with other potential functions (past the first six hours) being...building points for invites submitted (points could be redeemable later for other invites), etc.
Yeah I know it could ruin the simple viral nature of exclusive invites....but hey someone's got to do it :)
